Church History

In 1943, the Presbytery of Catawba established the Grier Heights Presbyterian Church. A conscious effort has been made over the years to impact this close knit community. Although worship is the center of congregational life, the church is much aware of doing mission at home and abroad. Over the years, Grier Heights has housed the following programs: Headstart, Senior Hot Lunches, Child Care Center, and Summer Youth Programs.

  Health Clinics / Health Fairs / Fitness Programs
  Tax Preparation / Money Management Courses
  Eating for Healthy Tomorrow Program / Food Pantry
  Emergency Assistance Program / Clothing Closet
  After School Enrichment Programs / Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts
  Mission Trips

Some years ago, the Church officially adopted "BECAUSE WE CARE" as our slogan. It is evident by the way in which members of the congregation participate in community endeavors. It is all worthwhile. In the Grier Heights Community, you will find some members of Grier Heights either leading the effort or working to support the cause.
