for her induction to the Women's History Hall of Fame of the Charlotte Club of the National Association of Negro Business and Professional  Women's Club, Inc. ( Induction ceremony took place March 24, 2009.)

She was honored for 24 years of public service and experiences in public health and community organizing. Her career began in 1985 with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Urban as a program coordinator.  Currently, She is employed as a Senior Division Manager with Mecklenburg County Health Department. Her entire career life has been devoted in working and promoting the spiritual, physical, mental and emotional well being of individuals, families and communities that have been un-served, under-served, lost and forgotten.

 In her words... "What I have come to value  most about life is that God is alive within me...  as I have surrendered my soul; I have experienced the joy of living. Life is temporary! It is full of difficulties, challenges and absolutely no quick fixes to complicated problems. The challenges, trials, traumas and obstacles endured in life are part of the journey that helps you to move forward in faith more boldly  discovering your inner resources of love, patience and strength. I share a deep passion and a  commitment to be the public servant to serve the most vulnerable populations. I share vision for a healthy future, in which all citizens, regardless of race, genders, age or socioeconomic status should receive equitable and quality health care. "
