Pastor Larry Darneil James, BS, M.Div

   He was born and reared in Little Rock, Arkansas where he learned to appreciate the value of the Black community.  His many role models represented the arenas from the church to the local pool hall.  In his words: "I owe much to the people of the community [in Little Rock] that helped to guide and direct me."

He has served in the U.S Air Force, attended and graduated from Arkansas Baptist College, an Historically Black Institution in Little Rock, AR. as a fulltime night student, at the University of Arkansas.  He retired from secular life as a full time employee of the State of Arkansas in a variety of capacities from employment to public assistance.

Rev. James says, that travel has broaden his understanding of his ministry as it relates to the human conditions.  He has witnessed the glamour of Paris, London, Venice, Barcelona, and Cape Town.  Conversely, he has seen the dismal conditions of Soweto, Gaza, Chichen-Itza, Choco, and Cartahenga among others.  "Spending time with people of other cultures has taught me much about the American culture and myself," states Rev. James.  He is quick to point out that the greatest difference between our cultures is language and that the human spirit, pain, joy, and suffering are prevalent in all our lives.  He believes that all people have a common need for love, peace and justice.
